Join the UNCAC Coalition
The UNCAC Coalition welcomes individuals and Civil Society Organisations whose work aligns with the spirit of the Coalition. This includes for example non-governmental organisations, academics, trade unions, etc.
Private sector associations (such as chambers of commerce) are not eligible for membership of the UNCAC Coalition. However, we encourage these organisations to sign up to the UN Global Compact to pursue their anti-corruption efforts.
The application process to become a Member of the UNCAC Coalition is as follows:
- Applicants submit an online application
- The application is assessed by the secretariat to ensure the applicant meets the eligibility criteria for membership
- If the applicant is eligible, the application is then sent to the UNCAC Coalition Coordination Committee for its review
- Applicants are notified via email of the outcome of their application
Membership Types
- International Member Organisation, defined as a civil society organisation working in three or more countries or with affiliates in three or more countries. Each International Member Organisation can put up a candidate in elections for the two seats for International Member Organisations and can vote in elections and in Coalition decision-making processes. Individuals affiliated with a member international organisation may participate in Coalition discussions and activities.
- National Member Organisation, defined as a civil society organisation working in a single country or in two countries. A national affiliate of an International Member Organisation is considered separate from that member. Each National Member Organisation can put up a candidate in elections for regional seats and can vote in elections and in Coalition decision-making processes. Individuals affiliated with a member organisation may participate in Coalition discussions and activities.
- Staff of Member Organisation - Registering as a person affiliated with a Member Organisation that is already a member of the UNCAC Coalition will allow you to access the UNCAC Coalition website members area and to be added to the UNCAC Coalition mailing list.
- Individual Affiliate Member, defined as a natural person with no affiliation to a Member Organisation*. Individual members may run for election for the Individual Member seat on the Coordination Committee, can vote in elections for the Individual Member seat and may participate in Coalition discussions and activities. Individual applicants must provide an endorsement letter from a current Coalition member to support their application.
*If you are affiliated with an organisation that is already a member of the UNCAC Coalition, please apply as Staff of Member Organisation.
Notes
- National and International Member Organisations may have several persons registered on the website as part of a Member Organisation, but only one person is authorised to vote for the Member Organisation in elections and decision-making processes and to represent the Member Organisation in consultations. If you are the first person to sign up for your Organisation, you automatically become your Organisation's representative to the Coalition. If you want to change your Organisation's representative, it is important that you notify us.
- CSOs may apply for membership as an International Member Organisation or as a National Member Organisation.
